Update 9.5 introduces new units, remodels, and a full shift in the power landscape. With several fresh Fall units entering the roster and older characters receiving updates, the tier list has shifted across all roles. This article organizes every major placement shown in the video into a clear, structured explanation so you know which units stand out, which ones fall behind, and where the new additions land.
Support Tier
Support-tier units are functional but not central to meta strategies. They offer utility but cannot carry and rarely appear in end-game setups. These units struggle with scaling, damage, or outdated kits, making them best suited for early progression.
Examples include:
• Purple hood character
• Blue ponytail girl
• White-haired masked user
• Sailor commander
• Pink hoodie unit
• Wizard-like grandma
• Cat mask girl
• Ice-themed support
These units help with stun, slows, or simple buffs, but rely entirely on stronger allies to finish runs.
Sub-Meta Tier
Sub-meta units offer enough power to comfortably clear early and mid waves but lose effectiveness as stages scale. They can temporarily carry but taper off sharply in late-game or high-end modes.
Notable placements:
• Bunny-themed girl with strong early clears
• Fox mask user with respectable AoE
• Gentleman with oversized head – solid stats, outdated scaling
• Green-haired gunner – good design, weaker numbers
• Rock fighter and fire puncher
• Black spiky-haired fighter
• Yellow-haired SS-inspired swordsman
These units are reliable in story and low Worldline floors, but lack the burst, range, or utility needed in competitive runs.
Meta Tier
Meta-tier units dominate most of the general content. They work well in tough waves, pair smoothly with supports, and feature damage profiles that hold up in advanced stages. This tier also contains several of the new Fall units.
Key units placed here include:
• Purple demon fighter
• Buff boxer
• Rumbleside bruiser
• White alien (Frieza-like) – incredibly cost efficient
• Orange spiky warrior – top-tier wave clearer
• Ghoul (new Fall unit)
• Ghost Girl (Perona) – newly added and immediately strong
• Jailer – dependable and fits the current environment
This tier features versatile damage units, strong AoE attackers, and reliable synergy choices, suitable for nearly all gameplay modes outside of leaderboard pushing.
Upper Meta Tier
Upper meta represents the best-performing carry units, the ones that define team building and determine the pace of late-game pushes. These are the dominant picks used at high-end stages, tough portal tiers, optimal event farming, and competitive Worldline runs.
Top placements in this tier include:
• Grim reaper–styled DPS – exceptional scaling and output
• Blue ice mech titan
• Shadow cloaked demon
• Twin blade white-haired assassin
• Red mask slayers
• Shiro-style hero
• Heavy tank leviathan-type beast
• Vigilant thief-class unit
These picks provide unmatched efficiency. They control waves, handle scaling enemies, and pair well with both trait and familiar optimizations. They also outperform earlier-tier options when building around Monarch, Godspeed, and full support stacking.
A mention is also made that Lie should join this tier due to new improvements and his synergy with skull-type effects.
Placement of the New Fall Units
Based on the video:
• Ghost Girl – Meta
• Jailer – Meta
• Ghoul – Meta
• Lich King (Ein) – expected to be Upper Meta after testing
• Black Hole – pending final damage checks but likely Meta or higher
• Unstable Mind (Mob Psycho) – not evaluated here but known to be near top-tier from other tests
• Horse Girls (Worldline) – flexible but placement depends on scaling tests
The Fall banner units perform surprisingly well, with multiple additions immediately entering the Meta tier and potentially rising further as more players complete full evolutions.
The 9.5 update shakes up the entire landscape, pushing fresh units directly into Meta status and refining the performance of older characters. The tier list stretches from supportive but limited units all the way to high-impact upper meta characters who elevate entire team compositions.
