Welcome to Dead Rails Train Guide, In this guide you will learn about tarins in the game, you can also check out Dead Rails Trello for more tips and tricks about the game.
“Your lifeline. Your refuge. The one thing that will get you out of this Hellscape. Keep it fueled unless you want to be stranded out there.”
The thing you’ll be using the travel. It’s the fastest way to get from spawn all the way to Mexico, keeping it fueled constantly is a must. The train is split up into several things in this Trello all based on their use. Yes, I’m counting the horn lever as its own separate thing.
The top speed of the train is 64-65 km/h, though with a few flinging bugs it could reach the thousands. Jumping while the train is moving will result in possibly falling off the train so either find a chair or just don’t jump at all. Mind welded props, they can still accidentally send you up in the air enough to make you fall off the train.
Please note, you’re only able to weld items onto the train and the wooden cart. You’re unable to weld items anywhere else.
Firebox
The only way to fuel the train would be to stuff fuel into the Firebox. An important part of the train next to the dials. Keeping your train fueled is the most important aspect of the game else you get stranded in the middle of nowhere and have to survive a night to use the bodies as fuel.
Coal would be the best fuel source out of all the items. Just saying.
Dials
There are four dials, all of them displaying something different. All of them are useful, but Time and Fuel are the most important ones.
Time – Displays the current time. Night Time starts at 11, Day Time starts at 6
Fuel – Shows approximately how much fuel you have.
Distance – Shows how far you are (1000m = 1km).
Speed – Displays how fast you’re going (Top Speed is 64-65).
The Lever
“A simple lever. One that you can pull at any time in case you get bored or something.”
It’s just the train horn. Pull on it to make the train do a horn thing.
