The Alien Update introduces a major storyline expansion featuring the arrival of Glorp, an alien who crash-lands his UFO at Rosit Bay. Alongside this, players receive new quests, translator progression, stronger Bloop hunts, accessory and abundance improvements, and the new ALIENS code. The update also refreshes equipment handling and fixes several long-standing bugs.
Alien Crash and Glorp Introduction
Glorp’s UFO has crashed directly into Rosit Bay, and the alien stands beside the wreck. Speaking to him shows a message stating that you need a Translator to understand his language. This becomes the central objective of the update: learning how to communicate with Glorp.
How to Start the Translator Questline
To begin the translator quest, you must speak with Dr. Creekspine at the Oil Rig. He is located at the top of the rig—access the ladders, climb the platforms, and reach the upper deck.
When you speak to Dr. Creekspine, the dialogue reveals:
• You tell him about the alien
• He initially doesn’t believe you
• After insisting, he agrees to help
• He requests alien artifacts mutated with Gleebous
This starts the quest to obtain the item needed for the Translator’s construction.
How to Get Gleebous (Required for Translator)
Dr. Creekspine needs a Gleebous-mutated fish to analyze Glorp’s language.
Gleebous is a rare mutation that can be obtained through fishing. It can appear on multiple fish types. To get one:
• Travel to Rosit Bay
• Locate the alien pool near the UFO
• Fish repeatedly
• Wait for a fish to spawn with the Gleebous mutation
This mutation is rare and fully RNG-based, so catching one may take some time.
Returning the Gleebous Fish to Dr. Creekspine
After obtaining a Gleebous-mutated fish:
• Return to the Oil Rig
• Speak with Dr. Creekspine again
• Give him the mutated fish
• He will begin analyzing the alien artifact
This step is essential for advancing the Translator quest.
Translator Reward and Function
After delivering the Gleebous-mutated fish, Dr. Creekspine researches the artifact to understand Glorp’s language. Completing this process unlocks the Translator, allowing you to speak with Glorp at Rosit Bay.
This enables the next part of the alien storyline and additional interactions.
New Code: ALIENS
The update includes one new code:
ALIENS
Rewards:
• Snowy Skin (Christmas Tree Rod)
• Blue Whistle
Redeem it at the in-game code menu.
Bloop Fish Update
Natural Bloop hunts have been adjusted:
• Bloop Fish now hits much harder
• Hunts feel more dangerous
• Spawns remain uncommon but more intense
This change increases the challenge of alien-themed encounters.
Accessory Save Improvements
Accessories now save properly across map transitions.
Key updates include:
• Equipped accessories stay equipped
• Items are stored in the Equipment Bag
• No need to re-equip after traveling
This removes the frustration of losing setups during zone switching.
Abundance System Changes
Abundances now function differently:
• Natural abundances can spawn many more fish
• Stronger species are included
• Farming abundances is more rewarding than previous patches
These changes encourage players to engage in abundance-based fishing.
Bug Fixes and Quality Improvements
The update fixes numerous issues across the game, including:
• Mutation VFX corrections
• Rod passive behavior
• Collision errors
• Quest marker issues
• UI polishing and menu clarity
These fixes together make fishing and exploration smoother.
UFO Location
Players can find Glorp and the UFO at Rosit Bay, on the coast of Roslet Island. This is where all alien-related progression begins.
The Alien Update adds a full quest path centered around Glorp, with a Translator that requires fishing for rare Gleebous mutations and delivering them to Dr. Creekspine at the Oil Rig. Combined with new abundance mechanics, stronger Bloop hunts, accessory upgrades, and the ALIENS code, this update adds depth, challenge, and new progression systems for players exploring FISCH.
